This blog post is proudly powered by clean coal technology, and is cross-posted at OpenLeft for a secure energy future.
Ubiquitous at the conventions are the 'clean coal' girls, who are handing out buttons and t-shirts to convince people that clean coal is a necessary technology we have to use for a secure energy future. If you don't know what clean coal is, allow me to explain.
The process of scrubbing carbon out of coal starts with a free t-shirt, like this one.
Before I put on this free t-shirt, coal was a dirty polluting fossil fuel that was destroying the planet and leveling mountains and communities all over the country. Putting on this free t-shirt started a process whereby coal, when combined with words such as 'technology' and 'plentiful domestic supplies', has become 'clean coal', an essential element of a secure energy future.
But don't take my word for it, I did an interview with the girls handing out the t-shirts. They go even deeper into the technological underpinnings of clean coal.
And there we have it. Simple. Clean. Secure. Clean coal.
